The iPhone 14 Plus effectively replaced the iPhone mini series when it was introduced in 2022. It's an upscaled version of the standard iPhone 14, with a larger 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display. It also boasts "the longest battery life on an iPhone," with up to 100 hours of audio playback plus up to 26 hours of video playback.

Otherwise, the iPhone 14 Plus shares the same angular design, notched screen, and upgraded specs as the iPhone 14, which includes an A15 Bionic chip, an advanced dual 12MP camera system, and dual eSim support. When we got hands on the iPhone 14 Plus, we noticed that it feels lighter than the similarly-sized iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The starting price of the iPhone 14 Plus was $899 / £949, which is $100 / £100 more than the iPhone 14. It does, however, offer an upscaled display that's sure to be handy if you're constantly streaming media from your device.

Overall, a great deal but it's worth checking out the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 at Verizon as well since the carrier has also been offering these more recent devices for free under the same terms.

Apple is still stocking the iPhone 14 Plus right now, and, as is the tradition with older devices, it's received a nice little $200 upfront discount to make it a more enticing buy. Is it worth it versus the new iPhone 15 Plus? That will depend on your budget but take note that you can trade in at the official Apple Store to get yourself a discount of up to $600, which is great if you're going for an unlocked device.
